“Shell Canada and its North American solar platform Silicon Ranch have announced plans to build a 58-megawatt (MW) solar farm adjacent to Shell’s Scotford refinery and chemicals park near Edmonton.” All of the power generated by the new solar farm will be dedicated to the Scotford refinery, for at least the next 25 years. The solar farm is expected to produce enough renewable electricity to provide 20 percent of the refinery’s energy needs. Click here to read more!
