Our Team

Clifton Lofthaug, P. TECH (ENG.)

President

Clifton is a Professional Technologist (Engineering) with over 15 years of technical and project management experience in the solar photovoltaic industry. He has worked on some of the largest commercial scale and utility scale solar projects in Western Canada and is also a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional and Master Electrician.

Owen O’Connor

Senior Project Manager

Owen is a Construction Manager/Coordinator with 10+ years of experience in managing contractors and multiple construction disciplines on large industrial projects. He is also a Master Electrician with a 15+ year background in the installation, QA/QC, turnover, commissioning and start-up of electrical & instrumentation systems.

Andrew Lundell, Alternative Energy Technologist

Technical Sales Manager

Andrew is an Alternative Energy Technologist with over 10 years of experience working in the solar photovoltaic industry. Andrew also has valuable experience in sales, IT, and communications. As a licensed drone pilot (RPAS), Andrew has also brought innovations in data acquisition via Drone Operation to create 3D and topographical models, saving projects the significant time and cost of a traditional surveying crew.

Mark Ruptash, Journeyman Electrician

Construction Manager

Mark is a responsible and well-rounded Journeyman Electrician with vast experience working in the solar photovoltaic industry (over 60MW). He began his solar career installing small residential scale projects and now is our Construction Manager, including providing on-site supervision on multiple utility scale projects where he was responsible for over 70 workers on two utility scale solar farms (30MW and 27MW).

David Clark

Service and Quality Manager

David is an experienced leader and manager, as well as having experience in skilled labor and project management. He has worked in both the trades and the service industry which has given him the opportunity to work as a subcontractor as well as with customers face to face.

Jourdan Chalifoux

Foreman/Lead Installer

Jourdan is a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician with over 10 years of Oil and Gas construction experience but was looking for a change. He began his apprenticeship with GCS and has been with the company for over 6 years, enjoying each new project and challenge. Through working as a site foreman, his construction skills and experience help manage and complete GCS’s commercial/utility scale projects.

Robyn Wadey

Foreman

Robyn is a Journeyman Electrician and helps lead our Joint Health and Safety Committee. Robyn started with us as a first-year apprentice, learning and helping to grow the industry for the past 5 years. Now, with her apprenticeship complete, Robyn is leading the way in safety and efficiency as one of the most experienced female solar installers in Canada.

Heinz Gray

Foreman

Heinz is an Electrician who has been in the trade for over 8 years. He started installing residential solar PV systems in 2016, now he works on utility scale projects and helps lead the residential install crew. You can either find him on a roof or at the golf course.

Devon Eyre

Drafting Specialist

Devon is a creative and technically sophisticated drafting technician with valuable experience designing and drafting residential and commercial solar PV systems. He is knowledgeable in the key principles of drafting and planning solar projects, as well as zoning bylaws and regulations that pertain to solar PV for numerous municipalities.
